Stonehenge, located in Wiltshire, England, is one of the most fascinating and fabulous megalithic monuments in the world. It is made of large sandstone stones weighing up to 25 tonnes, recently identified as coming from the West Woods, located 25 to 30 kilometres north of the monument.

This is a very important tourist complex that clearly needs to be protected from vandalism in order to ensure its perfect preservation for as long as possible.

So, in early 2013, Wessex Fire and Security was responsible for project managing the supply, installation and commissioning of the fire and security systems for the new Stonehenge visitor centre. Three buildings comprised the new Stonehenge facility: the main visitor centre, an ancillary building (for all plant, vehicles and machinery) and a security centre/post (the old visitor centre).

Stonehenge required a sophisticated, high-end perimeter detection and security system.

GJD worked closely with Wessex Fire and Security to manufacture and install the new security system for the Stonehenge site.

The use of GJD’s Clarius® infrared LED illuminators fulfilled an important requirement for the project, as verification of the process was carried out using a video analysis system. It was therefore necessary to separate the cameras from the infrared sources to minimise the attraction of the insects to the cameras. Different alternatives were studied and finally GJD was chosen because of its quality and previous experience.

Stonehenge required a sophisticated, high-end perimeter detection & security system and Clarius infrared illuminators were perfect for these needs as they work in conjunction with black and white cameras, day and night, providing a light that is invisible to the human eye, but fully visible to the CCTV camera.

If you are interested in finding out more about Clarius illuminators, please contact us.

The wireless transmission solution system used in the city of Montebello (California) belongs to the prestigious KBC Networks brand, distributed by Bunker Seguridad.

The need arose when the city of Montebello (California) faced serious problems with vandalism and graffiti in its central business district and surrounding public parks. City officials feared that the vandalism was seriously damaging business activity as well as the quality of life for local residents and workers.

To address the problem, it was decided that it was time to implement a video surveillance system. The city of Montebello needed more than a standard surveillance system. The goal was to develop a system with a special audio sensor that could detect the sound produced when the aerosol spray leaves the spray can, allowing the nearest camera to respond by focusing on the offender and generating a time and date stamped image of the offender.

For the system to work, a flexible transmission system had to be deployed that would allow the city to place cameras in strategic locations and carry the Ethernet IP traffic properly from all the cameras to the end of the system. A point-to-point wireless Ethernet system was deployed using unlicensed frequencies in the 5.8 MHz band. The wireless cameras have a transmission range of 0,8 to 3,2 km, depending on the environment.

Considering both the ability to place the cameras where they were needed, and the cost benefit of not having to dig up the streets to install the cable, the KBC Networks wireless Ethernet system provided a solution that delivered maximum performance and a quick return on investment for the city.

The cameras were installed in less than a day. The system, configured in a point-to-point configuration, had no engineering failures. The performance of the wireless system has been exceptional ever since, with a considerable drop in incidents.

If you are interested in wireless solutions, please contact us.

This Multispeech Kit is being used at the entrances of UK hospitals and surgeries for preventing transmission of COVID-19.

How does it work?

Activated by the GJD022 Elite PIR detector, the GJD090 Multispeech plays a pre-recorded message asking visitors to use the antibacterial gel before entering the building.

What exactly is the Multispeech Kit GJD090?

The GJD’s Multispeech Kit is a 4-channel voice transmitter module designed for intruder monitoring, access control, reception, information and alerts. A different 30-second message can be recorded on each channel or, alternatively, a single 120-second message. The volume control is adjustable and has two pre-announcement sounds.

What about the configuration?

It’s very easy to install and message recording is quick and simple.

In addition, it can be used with other detection devices such as the GJD022 Elite PIR detector, which has the custom-designed ASIC microprocessor, combined with the unique GJD optical system, which filters the information received to give the required detection accuracy at each action with options of detection ranges from 10 to 35 meters.

If you need more information about the Mutlispeech Kit, please contact us.

To keep the scaffolding and tubular structures protected and to warn of any intrusion by climbing attempt, the infrared barriers of Takex are a good option.

Takex designs and manufactures 2 and 4 beam infrared barriers and is the reference in any scaffold alarm due to its robustness, light resistance, useful life and technology. These can be installed, disassembled and manipulated on numerous occasions, even by ‘different hands’, over the years. Thus, the quality does not descend, there are no moving strips, no slackness or false contacts.

The recommended four-beam infrared barrier model, provided there is no possibility of scaffolding overlapping, is Takex PB-50F (PB-50FA); with regard to the 2-beam models, depending on the distance to be protected, there are the PB-30TK and PB60TK models.
